Dominic Bogle This album is an absolute gem. Albini's production delivers a punchy, sore-toothed post grunge record that doesn't disappoint. Would have happily listened to it end to end. One of my top releases this year! And the WOMPS never disappoint playing live either. Just buy it already... Favorite track: Gift From God.

Plasticine 02:56
Plasticine,
you are playful but you’re mean.
 Forming free...
what you get is what you see.
Make believe you’re as honest as you seem
What a relief, it’s always going to be just me
 on my own.
Woe is me if ‘woe’ is wishing you could breath
 under the sea
 There’s loneliness and just serene
or could it be it’s always going to be just me
 on my own?
 Like someone left me here
 like I could wait forever
 The future’s far to clear
 that I will wait forever.

2.
Manners 02:53
Say something sweet I can’t savour Mean something mean I don’t mind Manners Manners Manners only give away what you say. Cat got my lips, skimmed my whiskers. Tongue tried to trip Manners Manners Manners only start the day... then away. Tell me something painless I can believe before you know, it’s already gone.

Ritalin 02:06
Ritalin you took me from punk kid to model citizen but I can’t feel anything. The place I’m in it is quiet but no one’s listening. I just want attention. Cinnamon, you’re so sweet but I’ve lost my innocence. I just take my coffee black. The oestrogen in my soy makes me feel less militant let’s not take the power back. And if we take a fall do you think we’d rag doll? I think we’d lose it all.

5.
Like morning light run away from home. Sunset prison moonlight sentence. My smile shone white, cancer of the bone. Shadows living, less forgiving. How? you played me twice. Call me see-through. I paid the price You’re boring bright liquid acetone. Brand me thriller, brand me wholesale. These aches aren’t right, cancer of the bone. Kick the stick man, pick up where he failed to crack a smile. Call me lonely. I’ve seen my time... One and only one controls the tide I stay up late to track the moonlight. One and only one controls the time It’s not the same when clocks no longer chime I’ve overshot my prime.

6.
It’s warm outside
 Where did the winter go?
I’ll hibernate until the sight of snow
 I’ll lay low
Bleach blonde hair, a pack of twenty smokes
Parked out front but I don't want to go.
 I’ll lay low
Dream dreams, all the dreams I have
 are on demand.
Once I died, I never let it go.
The warmth I felt was just an afterglow.
 I’ll lay low.
 Cold in, warm out.

Cavity 03:24

I’ve had enough of hope leave me with another anecdote your handshake’s like a choke and i’ve got broken bones I’ve had enough to eat but leave me with the fancy cutlery that serving could feed three but you don’t want no family someone pinch my tongue and cheek till I can’t smile for weeks I chipped my tooth on vacant youth but you’re my cavity I opened my mouth for nothing I opened my mouth for me I opened my mouth for nothing and it left me a cavity

How Are You 03:41
There is no such thing as love just dependence and independence. There is no such thing as luck just statistics and some consequence. There is no such thing as love just difference and indifference. There is no such thing as god just religions and irreligion . Candlelit, we’re waxing lyrical burning quickly, call me cynical.
 Candlelit, we’re waxing lyrical
 I’ll admit there’s something beautiful
 How are you?
9.
Another Cell 02:54
Don’t ask, Don’t tell. Harass yourself. Take me to a place not far from here a place that i call home, a place i fear. Don’t clap, don’t jeer This is not an act i can’t control my tears. Please just take me to a place not far from here. A place that i call home, a place i fear. Sometimes we need a home to run from, we need another cell with bars to breathe through. Another cell. Fall back, disappear. Every blade of grass is green once in a year.

I’m the kind of thankless gift from god I water wine with words of love and drink to health with smokers cough i was never ashamed crown the king, a captor from above kiss the ring and suck it up some shine and others call their bluff enough if stupid acts as stupid does it claims cliches to cite it’s cause it dumbs me down, it overdubs what’s mine is mine to let go of frozen at the waist bitter to the taste watch me as I waste away i lied but I do it with grace striving to dismay the length of every day is flushing me away I lie but I do it with grace

about

Glasgow-based duo, WOMPS, are pleased to announce their debut album, Our Fertile Forever, recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago with some additional tracking by Chris Marshall. The impressive first full-length release perfectly encapsulates the band's high regard for creating heavy hitting, hook-laden, angsty-pop songs laced with clever dynamics and an attention for melody. Current single, "Dreams on Demand" alongside stand outs "Plasticine," and "Gift From God" are just a few of the tracks worth mentioning on this notable debut.

Our Fertile Forever will be out June 10th via Displaced Records.
